Puppy energy is the energy a dog has first thing in the morning, and almost every dog has it . Oh, the possibilities! In order to get a dog’s energy level down, they must be exercised otherwise they’ll eat your garbage to get your attention. I call this process “getting the puppy out of them.” Working them until they have no energy to drag their owner behind them on a walk, or lunge at other dogs. Dogs become more relaxed and more focused on commands when their energy has been depleted, but until they get the puppy out of them, it can be pure chaos!
